Just because your smart home can be controlled with apps and voice assistants, that doesn’t mean you shouldn’t also be able to control it with buttons. Buttons are awesome and here to stay.
I have voice assistants in every room and more than 100 automations running based on light, motion, presence, time of day etc., but sometimes I just want to press a button. So I connected a bunch of low voltage switches to my cheap and excellent ESHome based KinCony A16 Controller to be able to control lights, blinds, windows, TV, PlayStation, Apple TV and even the vacuum without having to pull up my phone or raise my voice. No delay and no batteries needed.
Multipress logic is on device in ESPHome (comment if you want the YAML) and dimming logic is in Node-RED (flow here: https://flows.nodered.org/flow/b3aa835c9ead60b8ec96b63ae2e80595).
