Vintage Smart Home: Music streaming and control in the pre-iPhone-era

Remember streaming music in the pre-iPhone-era?

The first smart home project I remember was using my Nokia phone to control the music in the kitchen by sending bluetooth commands to my iMac running iTunes, which was streaming the music to an AirPort express connected to pc speakers. Very cool back then since wireless streaming was still new, and phones could not yet stream or control music streaming directly.
